About Us

Joe SiudaMy name is Joe Siuda.  I use Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs and Tai Chi movement to improve the health of my clients.  If you have any concerns about your health or just want to feel your best I would love to talk with you further.  With the comprehensive services offered by Golden Compass you can find your way to optimal health.

David Carradine in the TV series Kung Fu was my childhood hero and spawned my interest in the Far East.  Carrying only a bamboo flute, a small satchel of herbs and the clothes on his back, the lone Shaolin Monk in the Old West spread justice, healing and Eastern philosophy wherever he wandered.  I first became interested in the healing arts through my involvement in Shorinji Kempo, a Japanese martial art where acupressure was taught alongside techniques for self-defense.  In my twenties I discovered Tai Chi where Taoist philosophy is embodied in graceful movement and health and self-defense benefits are united in one art.

My Master’s thesis research on the Japanese use of Chinese Herbs as a cultural anthropology student further ignited my interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine which led me to pursue formal training in 2001 at the Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Health and information is freedom.  At its heart, TCM is a very practical healing system.  Once the language barrier is overcome and a few key concepts are introduced, Chinese Medicine is simple to understand.  My goal is to demystify TCM and empower patients to take charge of their own health.
